I am a firm believer that in therapy what a client requires is not necessarily a brilliant mind that speaks, but a patient heart that listens. This principle guides my sessions, grounded in compassion, empathy, commitment, mindfulness and sensitivity—allowing clients the confidence and permission to explore themselves, overcome challenges and move toward self-sufficiency and their full potential.
My Approach
In my clinical practice, I strongly emphasise a holistic model of care that considers the mental and emotional, physical and biological, social, community and spiritual aspects of an individual. I believe that true healing and long-term wellbeing emerge when all dimensions of a person’s life are acknowledged and supported.
My theoretical orientation is primarily client-centred; however, I adopt an eclectic approach, integrating evidence-based therapeutic models such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused and Compassion-Based Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This flexibility allows me to tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs and life context.
I work primarily with individuals, couples and families, supporting them through a wide range of mental health concerns and life challenges.
With Couples
I have worked extensively with couples experiencing relationship distress, breakdowns in communication, challenges with trust and emotional intimacy, loneliness, difficulties adjusting to married life, conflicts with extended families, infidelity, addictions, anger management concerns and experiences of emotional or physical abuse.
With Individuals
My work with individuals includes supporting those experiencing depression, anxiety, personality-related challenges, stress and anger management issues, adjustment and acculturation difficulties, relationship and workplace conflicts, loss of identity and grief and loss.
With Families
I have worked closely with families facing intergenerational conflicts, parenting challenges, communication breakdowns, grief and loss, stress-related concerns and patterns of abusive or dysfunctional family functioning.
My Method
I believe in creating a safe, supportive and empowering therapeutic environment where clients feel heard, respected and encouraged to explore their concerns at their own pace. My approach focuses on helping clients clarify challenges, set meaningful goals and apply learnings from therapy in ways that promote self-sufficiency and personal growth.
I strongly advocate psycho-education and solution-focused strategies, guided by the principle of “helping my clients help themselves.” With my advanced training in multicultural counselling, I continuously adapt my therapeutic approach to align with each client’s cultural background, identity, level of acculturation and lived experiences.
Alongside my clinical work, I have been regularly invited to share professional insights through media, television, radio and international publications, contributing to broader conversations on mental health and emotional wellbeing.
